Hundreds of priests, seminarians, monks and canons, most of them young, filled the cathedral between apse and altar.
The many banners carried in procession represented countries, regions, parishes and youth movements participating in the pilgrimage from Paris to Chartres.
The pilgrimage is an annual event “that has been described as perhaps the largest public expression of traditional Catholicism in the world. It is a three-day, 72-mile pilgrimage from Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris to the cathedral at Chartres.” More info: https://www.pbs.org/wnet/religionandethics/2009/06/19/june-19-2009-pilgrimage-to-chartres/3283/
