Father Johnson called recently to share with me the sad news that his brain cancer, which was first diagnosed about 14 years ago, is growing again but this time the size of the entire malignant cell structure is increasing. He could choose dangerous surgery that might leave him without speech or other motor functions as a result or perhaps chemo. His prognosis either way is not good.
He has been ordained six years now and recently transferred to a community of traditional Redemptorists in Montana. The monks have indicated he can remain with them until the end whenever that might be. He might be with us until January.
He is currently seeing doctors on the east coast to further explore treatment options before he returns to Montana. He has asked for your prayers.
