Joseph Gelineau S.J, an important member of Bugnini's Consilium, (the group that designed the new mass), said in his 1976 book “To tell the truth it is a different liturgy of the Mass. This needs to be said without ambiguity: the Roman Rite as we knew it no longer exists. It has been destroyed.” At least he was honest.
