All evil, including disease, entered the world through sin

Wherefore as by one man sin entered into this world, and by sin death; and so death passed upon all men, in whom all have sinned.

- Romans 5, 12

And God chastises those whom He loves:

“And therefore we also having so great a cloud of witnesses over our head, laying aside every weight and sin which surrounds us, let us run by patience to the fight proposed to us:
Looking on Jesus, the author and finisher of faith, who having joy set before him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and now sitteth on the right hand of the throne of God.
For think diligently upon him that endured such opposition from sinners against himself; that you be not wearied, fainting in your minds.

“For you have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin:
And you have forgotten the consolation, which speaketh to you, as unto children, saying: My son, neglect not the discipline of the Lord; neither be thou wearied whilst thou art rebuked by him.

“For whom the Lord loveth, he chastiseth; and he scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
Persevere under discipline. God dealeth with you as with his sons; for what son is there, whom the father doth not correct?

“But if you be without chastisement, whereof all are made partakers, then are you bastards, and not sons.

“Moreover we have had fathers of our flesh, for instructors, and we reverenced them: shall we not much more obey the Father of spirits, and live?

“And they indeed for a few days, according to their own pleasure, instructed us: but he, for our profit, that we might receive his sanctification.

“Now all chastisement for the present indeed seemeth not to bring with it joy, but sorrow: but afterwards it will yield, to them that are exercised by it, the most peaceable fruit of justice.”

Hebrews 12:1-11

You don’t want to be a bastard, do you? No, I didn’t think so.

Live stream traditional Latin Masses reaching thousands of homebound Catholics

As the screenshots show, a recent traditional Latin Mass, which you can observe at the link also provided on this page, reached over 1000 people, while hundreds are reached on a typical day. This scenario is being repeated all over the country and the world.

With public Mass cancelled people are watching the Mass of their choice on line. Exposure to the traditional Mass is no doubt increasing as a result of the Church’s response to the pandemic. Don’t forget that many tradition leaning Catholics compromise and go to the new Mass to keep “peace” in the family.

Coronavirus Pandemic an Opportunity to Strengthen Catholic Identity

By Fr. KEVIN M. CUSICK

Never let a crisis go to waste. This is true for cynical politicians and unscrupulous business types. Should it be true for the Church as well? I think so.

Weeks ago, dioceses nearly worldwide, in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic, have ordered public Masses canceled. Bishops have stipulated that these not be replaced by Communion services which will also draw a gathering.

Priests were often told what not to do and left scrambling to figure out what to do. They should certainly continue to offer Mass privately, and for the intentions and needs of their people. But priests are fathers, left mired in frustration if they think they are not doing enough to care for their flocks.

How about public Mass in grocery stores, Dunkin’ Donuts or liquor stores?

Surely all lawyers would agree that bishops would not incur liability for disease or death in these cases, right? Because we all know who is running the Church right now.

RIP: More than 11,500 people have died of COVID-19 in Italy

Vatican flags are flying at half-staff on Tuesday in solidarity with the victims of the coronavirus in Italy and worldwide.
“Today, in solidarity with Italy, the Holy See will display flags at half-mast in mourning to express its closeness to the victims of the pandemic in Italy and in the world, to their families, and to all those who generously struggle for its end,” Holy See Press Office Director Matteo Bruni told journalists on March 31.
Pope Francis met with the Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte at the Vatican the day prior as the Italian government attempts to confront an outbreak which has led Italy to have the highest number of coronavirus mortalities in the world.
More than 11,500 people have died of COVID-19 in Italy after a total of 101,739 people have been documented by the Italian Ministry of Health as infected with the coronavirus. Throughout the world, more than 37,800 people have died, according to Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center.

Almost 11,000,000 completely preventable deaths so far this year: abortions

Death is on everyone’s mind. Diseases such as Coronavirus and other causes are preoccupying our society and causing 10,000,000 people to lose their jobs as of last counting.

The tragic deaths due to Coronavirus number 21,000 so far this year. But there are other causes of death that we must fight as well. This is about human life, correct?

Abortion is death. Completely preventable. It’s the intentional taking of innocent human life by means of legal child murder.

So far, this year, almost 11,000,000 human beings have died through the intentional actions of other human beings.

Coronavirus is bad. And we’re doing everything we can to stop it.

Abortion is worse and it continues every day.

The experts tell us the coronavirus is preventable by changing behaviors. So is abortion.

Knights of Columbus Dump Crux: Who Picked up the Slack?

Commodification of the Catholic faith, like it’s a product, a do-it-yourself or self-styled product just like any other in our materialistic society seems to be an ever-popular idea.
Individuals who represent themselves as journalists for the sake of the Catholic faith fall into the same trap.
You may remember the stupefaction a few years back when the KofC announced they were bankrolling heterodox-friendly Cruz a few years ago. That bad idea his now come to a bad end ...
“Knights Quietly Pull the Plug on CRUX
“So it may come as a shock to many Knights and Catholic laity that after four years and more than two million bucks of hard-earned grassroots Knights of Columbus money  gone down the drain, the Supremes at the Knights Tower in New Haven, Connecticut,  have finally pulled the financial plug on Crux.”

Thank you for visiting.
