We’ve lost all the tools of philosophy, or never had them to begin with, if we can posit, or attribute, an infinite quality to a finite being.
People tap-dancing their way around the impossible on Twitter/X are responding to critiques of Dignitas Infinita, the latest sophomoric foray out of Rome, with arguments like the above: “the dignity is infinite, not the person”.
Just more of the same nonsense we got as a result of that other documental disaster “Fiducia Supplicans” with defenders claiming “we are blessing the persons, not the relationship”.
This is all simply a sustained rant against reality.
A post in comments under Kennedy Hall’s account on Twitter/X:
The only Being with any infinite qualities, to include that of dignity, is God.
