The Holy Father chose the occasion of this writer's birthday in 2007 to release the gift of the wonderful Summorum Pontificum. The document makes great strides in healing the illegitimate "hermeneutic of rupture" with which many chose to represent the liturgy and documents of Vatican II and advances what Benedict XVI calls the "hermeneutic of continuity".
Now he chooses the same date this year to release his new encyclical, Caritas in Veritate.
