Dear Friends for Life ~
Charles County Right to Life reports that the MD State Legislature plans on specially protecting funding for Planned Parenthood in our state by replacing their federal funding with our state tax dollars if the Federal Government follows through with their plan to defund the abortion giant. As of today, 3/24, the bill (HB 1083) passed the house (90-54), a veto-proof majority if Gov. Hogan were to veto the final bill. The companion bill, SB 1081, was given a favorable report by the Senate Budget and Taxation Committee and now awaits a Senate vote.
The Maryland Catholic Conference (MCC), the lobbying arm of Archdiocese of Washington, Archdiocese of Baltimore and The Diocsese of Wilmington (Eastern shore of MD),
has publicly stated that theywill not oppose this abomination.http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryland/politics/bs-md-planned-parenthood-20170308-story.html
As Congress and the Trump administration move toward a possible cutoff of federal money for Planned Parenthood, Democratic leaders in the General Assembly are rallying around a planto have the state fill the funding gap.

Please contact these Dioceses and express your outrage with the MCC's disregard for this crucial pro-life issue. Then, call your Senator and ask him
to oppose this legislation (see contact info below).
Also, let your Pastors know the MCC's position concerning their official stance. There is NO mention of these bills on their website:www.mdcathcon.org
