I was stationed at Fort Hood between 1985 and 1988 as an Armor officer in 3/67 Armor Battalion before 2d Armored Division was deactivated. My brother, a Cavalry officer in the Army, was also stationed at Fort Hood. For these reasons and more I am very close in spirit and sympathy with all who are affected by the evil and tragic outburst of senseless violence that has left so many dead and wounded.
I am remembering the departed, those who depend at this moment upon others for the healing arts, the families affected and the whole community at Fort Hood in prayer here, far away, together with everyone at home.
