Our clever and skillful sacristan who also doubles as our church design coordinator built a scale model for our planned confessional.
The piece we have been using is a wobbly and modern partition with poor accommodation for kneeling penitents. The cry room in which it is located is an echo chamber reducing privacy for those who don’t whisper.
I proposed an economic piece of furniture based on simple classic design with one piece that joins seating for priest with kneeler and muffling curtain for penitent.
We will shop our design around for estimates with local Amish & Mennonite artisans.
