It is already part of Church law that Communion must be denied to those who persist in manifest grave sin

The law is already on the books and Catholic bishops who fail to follow it are neglecting their duty:

“… the prohibition on giving Communion to those who obstinately persist in manifest grave sin has been a part of Church discipline for centuries.”
