(LifeSiteNews) — Bishop Athanasius Schneider expressed “horror” at the Vatican’s endorsement of the “LGBTQ Jubilee pilgrimage,” rebuking priests who support homosexuality as “spiritual criminals” and “murderers of souls.”

“My reaction was a silent cry of horror, indignation, and sorrow,” the auxiliary of Astana, Kazakhstan, said regarding the Vatican’s approval of an LGBTQ-themed “pilgrimage” on its Jubilee website, in an interview with Diane Montagna, a journalist in Rome.

Karol G, one of the most popular singers of reggaeton music, a lowbrow Latin genre known for hypersexual lyrics and videos, is slated to perform for the Vatican concert in St. Peter’s Square on September 13, a Colombian outlet reported.

Newly released pages from a Nashville child murderer’s diary show the gender-confused Christian school shooter calling herself “the Devil’s apprentice,” writing in multiple personas, and taking the persona of demons. The newly released pages also include drawings of upside-down crosses and the demonic number “666.”

On Sept. 8, thanks to a lawsuit from the Wisconsin Institute of Law and Liberty (WILL), the FBI released 525 more heavily redacted pages from writings of the individual who murdered six, including three children, at the Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee in March 2023. Under President Biden, the FBI had attempted to keep the transgender murderer’s writings sealed, obscuring her motives.

The Pope has invited an opponent of his predecessor to celebrate mass in St Peter’s basilica next month as he tries to repair rifts in the Catholic Church.

Cardinal Raymond Burke, an American, will preside over the traditional Latin mass, which Pope Francis restricted in the belief it was a magnet for traditionalist Catholics who opposed his liberal stance on gay people, divorcees and migrants.

“This is the first concrete indication of the attitude of Pope Leo XIV to the traditional mass and we are ecstatic to be welcomed into the most prestigious church in the world,” said Joseph Shaw, who heads FIUV, an association that promotes the Latin mass.

Burke, 77, has championed the mass during which the priest speaks in Latin and faces the altar. It was largely replaced in the 1960s, after the Second Vatican Council, by the vernacular mass in which the priest faces the congregation. The Latin mass has remained a favourite of traditionalists and became a rallying cry for opponents of Francis after he restricted its use in 2021 and banned it from St Peter’s. He removed Burke from two key Vatican posts and criticised his anti-vaccine views.

Leo has taken steps since his election in May to bring liberals and conservatives together, including giving Burke an audience at the Vatican last month. Massimo Faggioli, a theologian at the Loyola Institute at Trinity College, Dublin, said: “This looks like a policy reversal by Leo and it will be much more complicated now to make the case for not celebrating the Latin mass in dioceses.”

Among the unanswered questions in the aftermath of the mass shooting at a Catholic church in Minneapolis earlier this week is whether the two children who died are martyrs.

Like St. Óscar Romero in 1980 and St. Thomas Becket in 1170, they died while praying in church.

But does that make Harper Moyski, 10, and Fletcher Merkel, 8, martyrs as the Catholic Church defines the term?

The answer isn’t clear-cut, partly because not all the facts are known and partly because the Church’s concept of martyrdom has been expanding in recent decades.

The Register contacted several Catholic scholars who study martyrdom to ask the question and received varying answers.

Harper and Fletcher, pupils at Annunciation Catholic School in the Windom neighborhood of Minneapolis, were attending an all-school 8:15 a.m. Mass on Wednesday at Annunciation Church when a man outside the building fired dozens of rounds with a .223-caliber (5.56-millimeter) rifle, as well as a handgun and a shotgun, through narrow stained-glass windows on one side, authorities have said. The two children died. Eighteen other people were wounded, most of them students at the pre-kindergarten-through-eighth-grade school.

The shooter, Robert (Robin) Westman, 23, a male who identified as a female, fatally shot himself shortly after he shot up the church.
