Remembering Saint Peter Mavimeno

“At Damascus, [in the year 743,] holy Peter Mavimeno. Some Arabs came to see him while he was ill, and to them he said, "Whoever does not embrace the Catholic Christian religion will be damned, as your false prophet Mohammed is," whereupon they killed him.”

Dougherty the Deceiver

The priest authoring the blog “Southern Orders” watched enough of the Saint Patrick’s sacrilege funeral video to determine that Dougherty, the Maryknoll priest who “presided” over the event, is responsible for allowing the evil desecration to continue, whether or not he had any role beforehand.

As I suspected, the Cathedral indeed assigned a staff member, perhaps clergy, to be present who was coaching Dougherty as the event unfolded but who was also rebuffed by Dougherty when he tried to intervene to prevent further sacrilege as the transgender political activist stunt spiraled out of control. The primary intervention appears to be that, as the blogger writes, what perhaps started out as a Mass was changed midstream into a liturgy “outside of Mass”, that is, with Scripture, prayers and remarks but without celebration of the Holy Eucharist.

This priest is the enemy inside the gates. If he is allowed to return then not only does he have a problem, Saint Patrick’s does as well. This may be a suspending offense but I’m not an expert in canon law. Seems to me some disciplining of the priest would be in order, though. Dangerous precedent if he is not.

Remember this follows another event in nearby Brooklyn where a half-dressed woman brought a crew inside a Catholic church and recorded a music video as a stunt to promote what clearly involves no talent on her part.

From Southern Orders blog:

FROM A FUNERAL MASS TO A FUNERAL LITURGY OUTSIDE OF MASS AND HOW THE DECISION TOOK PLACE

I watched the beginning of the Funeral Liturgy Scandal again. The priest, who Cardinal Dolan should hold responsible for the sacrilege and blasphemy in his cathedral, is dressed in a Chasuble which is used solely for a Mass, not a Liturgy outside of Mass. Outside of Mass a cope may be used, or cassock, surplice and stole or alb and stole.

After blessing the body of the deceased at the entrance of the Cathedral, the procession arrives at the altar. A priest wearing a cassock but with his surplice off and over his arm, speaks to the priest whose microphone is on. This priest, who may be the rector, I am not sure, says to him that this is not going to be a Mass but rather the Liturgy outside of Mass.

Thus the decision to change it from a Mass to a Liturgy outside of Mass was done after the Liturgy began, not before.

I can’t watch the full liturgy as it turns my stomach, but when it is time for the eulogies to take place, the same priest, perhaps the rector, is miffed about the eulogies and tries to intervene, but the celebrant priest, who should be disciplined by the Cardinal, waves him off and more sacrilege/desecration takes place in the sanctuary publicly videoed for all to see and hear.

God help us.

The Church is a hospital, but the mentally and physically ill should not run the institution, they should be treated, restrained if necessary and given bitter medicine which will help them in the long run. They should receive treatment, to include discipline and sedation if needed. They should not run the Church, I mean the hospital, or overrun it!

The Church, which is a “hospital” for the mortally sinful and spiritually dying, cannot be run by those whose sinfulness is highly contagious and corrupts the healthy if they aren’t quarantined. They can’t take over a sterile environment meant to cure their contagious and thus compromise the treatment the Church offers, which is God’s grace that convicts us of our diseased sinfulness and enables us to repent and believe God, not our own sick truth.

God help us!

Cardinal Muller: Fiducia Supplicans is Contrary to the Church's Teaching

Pious heresiarch James Martin contradicts Catholic faith and morals in an act of rebellion against Jesus Christ as Savior.

Cardinal Gerhard Müller analyses Francis' homosexual propaganda piece Fiducia Supplicans on FirstThings.com (16 February). Main points.

The idea of "pastoral blessings" that are "not liturgical" is a novelty that has no basis in Scripture, the Holy Fathers, the Magisterium [and reality].

The fact that it is a priest, representing Christ, who blesses, makes this "pastoral blessing" a liturgical act.

Every blessing, whatever its solemnity, implies the approval of that which is blessed.

The question isn't practical or dependent on the "sensibilities" of different regions, but touches on both natural law and the evangelical affirmation of the sacredness of the body, which is no different in Malawi than in Germany.

No matter how much one repeats that one is not blessing "the union", that is exactly what one is doing through the objectivity of the rite being performed.

The text of Fiducia Supplicans contains statements which are contrary to the teaching of the Church, and accepting Fiducia Supplicans leads to heresy.

Why would homosexuals want to be blessed together if not because they want God's approval of their concubinage? So to bless them together is to confirm them in their sin and thus to alienate them from God.

Until the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith [= Francis] corrects this text by clarifying that the blessing cannot be given to a couple, but only to each person individually, the Dicastery is approving statements that are contrary to the profession of faith.

Cardinal Zen: A Division "Never before Seen in the Church" Looms

Cardinal Joseph Zen summarised the 2023-2024 Synod of Bishops in his blog OldYosef.hkdavc.com (15 February).

"They tell us that synodality is a fundamental constitutive element of the life of the Church, but at the same time they stress that synodality is what the Lord expects of us today", meaning that "it is something new".

Zen notes that there are two opposing visions of the Church:

"On the one hand, the Church is presented as founded by Jesus Christ on the apostles and their successors, with a hierarchy of ordained ministers guiding the faithful on their way to the heavenly Jerusalem. On the other hand, there is talk of an undefined synodality, a 'democracy of the baptised' ('Which baptised? Do they go to church regularly? Do they draw their faith from the Bible and their strength from the sacraments?)".

Zen warns that the second vision "can change everything: the doctrine of faith and the discipline of the moral life".

Some say that the synod has no agenda, but that insults our intelligence".

Cardinal Zen has not forgotten the famous "footnote" in Amoris Laetitia after the two synods on the family, nor the fact that the German Synodal Path has not yet been decisively rejected.

He suspects that the organisers of the synod are particularly interested in homosexuality and criticises the fact that for the first time the propaganda term "LGBTQ" appears in a Church document.

He sees the method of the synod as a manipulation to avoid a real discussion based on the Word of God. It is "all about psychology and sociology, not about faith and theology".

For Zen, the homosexual propaganda piece "Fiducia Supplicans" is a "disgusting" surprise in the middle of the two synodal sessions:

"Since the problem had already come to the fore, it was more than reasonable to wait for the next synodal meeting, after serious discussion, to resolve it. To prevent such a discussion is an act of incredible arrogance and disrespect for the Synod Fathers".

The document "threatens a serious division never before seen in the Church".

It’s called “Google”: know who’s using your church building

One of the most alarming aspects of the sacrilegious abuse of Saint Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City at the February 15th funeral is the extreme neglect it has uncovered.

“Know who’s using your church” is the basic duty of every good pastor: it takes minutes to Google and discover that the deceased for whom a funeral is requested is, first if all, an atheist. And transgender. AND an activist for evil.

Then you just say “no”.

I offered a wedding Mass at Saint Pat’s as a newly ordained in the 90’s. I was watched every minute by a young priest, likely a parochial vicar on the cathedral staff at the time, who was present in the upper church for the entire wedding Mass to ensure nothing untoward was done. People were free to visit the church during the wedding and the effort to prevent potential sacrilege is necessary for such a highly visible public space that represents the Catholic faith for so many people.

He was also there to make sure we “moved along” and did not overrun the time allotted for the Mass.

But it need be said that preventing sacrilege in every one of our churches is just Catholic.

Is it so hard? I didn’t resent the oversight and felt it was entirely appropriate for one of the most iconic and most highly visited churches, not just in NYC, but the world.

The woman who deceived the staff of St Pat’s in requesting the use of the church understands the church is iconic and chose it for that reason in order to stage the outrageous and blasphemous transgender show that resulted. Does the staff of St. Pat’s understand that?

And let’s not be naive. Was this possibly an “inside job”, as they say? Heads should roll after this. Will the priest, who while seated in the sanctuary in view of the entire assembly, viewing closely the entire ugly and evil spectacle and doing absolutely nothing to stop it, be invited back?

Rector: Mass Of Reparation Offered At St. Patrick’s Cathedral After ‘Scandalous’ Funeral

The exterior of St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City is seen in a nighttime file photo. The cathedral faces controversy for hosting a funeral Feb. 15, 2024, for trans activist and atheist Cecilia Gentili, who died Feb. 6 at age 52. (OSV News photo/Gregory A. Shemitz)

(OSV News) — Two days after St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City was filled with mourners for an irreverent “homecoming” funeral for a prominent activist who identified as transgender, the cathedral’s rector acknowledged that many people “have let us know they share our outrage over the scandalous behavior” that took place at the service.

Father Enrique Salvo said in a Feb. 17 statement that at New York Cardinal Timothy M. Dolan’s “directive, we have offered an appropriate Mass of Reparation.”

“The Cathedral only knew that family and friends were requesting a funeral Mass for a Catholic, and had no idea our welcome and prayer would be degraded in such a sacrilegious and deceptive way,” Father Salvo said.

Hundreds were on hand Feb. 15 to commemorate actress and author Cecilia Gentili, an Argentine native who had battled sexual abuse from age six and trafficking, as well as homelessness, heroin addiction and incarceration. The 52-year-old died Feb. 6 of unnamed causes at the Brooklyn, New York, home Gentili shared with partner Peter Scotto.

Gentili was the founder and principal consultant of Trans Equity Consulting and an advocate for the decriminalization of sex work.

Ceyenne Doroshow — founder and director of GLITS Inc. (Gays and Lesbians Living in a Transgender Society), organized the funeral. She told The New York Times that she approached St. Patrick’s since “it is an icon, just like (Gentili).”

Doroshow also told the newspaper that she had not advised pastoral staff that Gentili identified as transgender, saying, “I kind of kept it under wraps.”

Virgin Mary statue vandalized at national shrine in Washington

A statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary on the north lawn of the grounds of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington was vandalized Feb. 15, 2024. According to the basilica's rector, the damage appears to have been caused by a hammer and is being investigated. WASHINGTON (OSV News) — The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception has once again been targeted by vandals. This time, a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary on the north lawn of the basilica grounds, located in an area known as Mary’s Garden, suffered severe damage.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. Feb. 15, a visitor praying the rosary in the garden discovered the desecrated statue. The individual immediately alerted the basilica staff, prompting an inspection. It appeared that the Blessed Mother’s face had been deliberately struck with a hammer, and the surrounding light fixtures, meant to illuminate the path for visitors, were shattered.

According to Monsignor Walter Rossi, the basilica’s rector, this act of vandalism seems to have occurred shortly before its discovery, given the routine checks performed by the security staff.

This act of vandalism echoes a disturbing pattern of disrespect towards religious symbols at the national shrine. Monsignor Rossi recalled, in a statement, a similar incident on Dec. 5, 2021, when the statue of Our Lady of Fatima, an image of the Virgin Mary located in the Rosary Walk and Garden across Harewood Avenue from the basilica, was also vandalized.

The statue vandalized Feb. 15, “Mary, Protector of the Faith” by sculptor Jon-Joseph Russo, depicts the Virgin Mary cradling the child Jesus. According to the basilica’s website, it was erected in 2000 in honor of Bishop Thomas J. Grady, the fifth director of the national shrine, who oversaw the construction of the Great Upper Church.

Desecration of Saint Patrick’s Cathedral at funeral for transgender professed atheist

Video clip from sacrilegious “eulogy” delivered at a recent funeral in Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, New York City for professed atheist “Cecilia Gentili”, a man originally from Argentina who for many years publicly faked the identity of a woman.

WARNING: offensive language.

Proudly boasting of unrepentant sin in a consecrated Catholic place of worship. Desecrating the name of a canonized saint. And the officiating priest sits silently by and does nothing to stop this offense to God. The Church is overrun. May God have mercy on the false shepherds.

A sign in the church mocking virginity and sanctity read “travesty, whore, blessed” with a picture of the deceased adorned in a halo.
