I’ve seen and greeted Cardinal Burke walking in Rome and think Gloria TV has a case of mistaken identity

I’ve seen and greeted Cardinal Burke in one of his walks through Rome. Gloria TV says this is him based on a Francis court journalist’s word. I, however, think it is a case of mistaken identity as the person in the video does not have the slower gait which I observed when I encountered the Cardinal. There are many clerics in Rome and many still wear Greca overcoat and black hat.

This guy walks too fast.

Unlikely it’s Cardinal Burke, although in contradiction to the report the cleric in question does appear to be wearing a face mask.

USCCB: No Cell Phones for Confession, no Delegation of Sacramental Anointing

Validly ordained priests remain the ordinary ministers of the sacraments, to include penance and anointing of the sick or last rights. These sacraments may not be simulated and must be administered in person, with priest and penitent or the sick or dying person physically present to each other.

This is based on the Incarnation, our Lord Himself the source of our sacraments, the truth that Jesus Christ is God made flesh, God made man, in the sacraments; our connection with his incarnational grace and salvation.

The bishops‘ conference reiterated this in a recent press release:

“WASHINGTON, D.C. — The chair of the U.S. bishops’ committee on liturgy wrote to U.S. bishops Friday, to clarify issues related to the sacraments of penance and anointing of the sick which have arisen during the Church’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.

“With regard to Penance, it is clear that the Sacrament is not to be celebrated via cell phone,” Archbishop Leonard Blair of Hartford wrote in a March 27 memo to U.S. bishops.

“In addition, in the present circumstances cell phones should not be used even for the amplification of voices between a confessor and penitent who are in visual range of each other. Current threats against the seal of confession also raise questions about information on cell phones,” Archbishop Blair added.

“With regard to the Anointing of the Sick, it is not possible for the anointing with oil to be delegated to someone else, such as a nurse or doctor.

Bishop Schneider: Priests don’t have to obey bishops, govt who suspend Mass over COVID-19

March 30, 2020 (LifeSiteNews) – Bishop Athanasius Schneider has stated that a priest, using discretion and following the necessary health precautions “has not to obey the directives of his bishop or the government to suspend Mass for the faithful.” He also described the COVID-19 pandemic as a chastisement and a purification.
Directives canceling all public Masses “are a pure human law; however, the supreme law in the Church is the salvation of souls,” said the auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese of Mary Most Holy in Astana, Kazakhstan, in an interview with traditional Catholic newspaper The Remnant.

The Scientist Whose Doomsday Pandemic Model Predicted Armageddon Just Walked Back The Apocalyptic Predictions

British scientist Neil Ferguson ignited the world’s drastic response to the novel Wuhan coronavirus when he published the bombshell report predicting 2.2 million Americans and more than half a million Brits would be killed. After both the U.S. and U.K. governments effectively shut down their citizens and economies, Ferguson is walking back his doomsday scenarios.
