Saint Francis de Sales Church in Benedict, Md, Announces Plan to Restore Sanctuary

Wooden screen at rear of sanctuary has become shiny under multiple coats of varnish and darkened by sealing in smoke residue resulting from church fire of January 2010. Photo taken Christmas 2010.

Artist's conception of sanctuary after removal of brown wooden screen and restoration through repair and repainting of white apse wall. Crucifix will be mounted at rear of apse within architectural framing. Carpet will be removed in sanctuary and white Carrara marble to match historic high altar installed throughout. Large tabernacle will be repositioned to rear of altar on external support to free more area of mensa for offering of extraordinary form of holy Mass.
Work is projected to be completed in Spring of 2012. Please pray for the success of this project and for raising of remaining funds necessary to complete the work.

Vivat Iesu.

Ad majorem Dei gloriam.
