Novus Ordo Catholics read the Beatitudes; TLM Catholics live them

Novus Ordo Catholics read this in church on the 6th Sunday “in Ordinary Time”. Traditional Latin Mass Catholics live it:

“And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said:

‘Blessed are you poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.

‘Blessed are you that hunger now, for you shall be satisfied.

‘Blessed are you that weep now, for you shall laugh.

‘Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they exclude you and revile you, and cast out your name as evil, on account of the Son of man! Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for so their fathers did to the prophets.’” (Luke 6, 20ff)

The novus Ordo church has the money:

“But woe to you that are rich, for you have received your consolation.”

The blandishments of churches, physical plant, bloated staffs and payroll, while TLM Catholics are expelled from parish churches:

Woe to you that are full now, for you shall hunger.”

Their churches are full of laughing and talking, distractions, self-indulgence and worldly gratification and flirting with temptation such as immodest dress:

Woe to you that laugh now, for you shall mourn and weep.”

And do they stroke each other’s egos, the mutually congratulatory “elites”, self-appointed theological experts in the blogosphere, racking up likes on the video rounds of YouTube:

“Woe to you, when all men speak well of you, for so their fathers did to the false prophets.”

Two different religions; two very different outcomes.

“Woe to you.”
