Andrea Grill Attacks Archbishop Cordileone for “schismatic arguments” in defense of immemorial liturgy

NEWS: Andrea Grillo, one of the principal architects of Traditionis custodes, has accused Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone of advancing “schismatic arguments."

The Italian liturgist criticised the San Francisco archbishop’s claim that the Church enjoyed greater unity under Summorum Pontificum than under Traditionis custodes, rejecting his defence of the 1962 Missal and his call for dialogue with the SSPX.

Andrea Grillo argued that Summorum Pontificum effectively adopted Lefebvre’s project and that Traditionis custodes restored a single lex orandi.
