I. We sing to thee Sweet Philomene

    O Princess Virgin Martyr!

    And through thy intercession seek

    to imitate thy ardor.

R. Saint Philomena! Sweet Philomena!

    Pray for us to thy Bridegroom.

II. Thou suffered scourges, arrow, sword

    under cruel Diocletian.

    But what Christ gave thee in thy soul

    thou saw to its completion.

    

 Refrain.

III. Ten thousand virgins share thy joy

    in pure Light uncreated.

    May our souls at length be like thine

    with virtues decorated.
