WHAT: STOP THE ABORTION AMENDMENT RALLY
WHEN: THURSDAY MARCH 10th 5:30 PM
WHERE: LAWYERS MALL, STATE HOUSE, ANNAPOLIS
Speaker Adrienne Jones introduced HB1171 Right to Reproductive Liberty this session and rushed it to and through committee to try and add a RIGHT to an abortion in our state constitution. If passed in both chambers of the General Assembly, the right to an abortion through birth would be added to the state constitution, nullifying nearly all current limitations to abortion in Maryland. It would make it impossible to restrict or eliminate abortion even in the event that Roe vs. Wade is overturned. This "Abortion Amendment" would be placed on the ballot in the upcoming 2022 General Election and would be voted on by the people of Maryland. The governor can't veto it and once passed, it would take another constitutional amendment to repeal it. We MUST stop it before it makes it to the Senate. |
