Each of the letters adorning the Cross corresponds to a prayer in the accompanying notes marked with that letter. In order from top down, Z is first, then D I A across the top beam, from left to right and so forth. The prayers end with repetition of the “Z” prayer again to conclude the series at the bottom of the Cross.
