The health care reform bill, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), was signed into law in 2010. Serious flaws in this law must be corrected. To this end, on January 20, Reps. Joseph Pitts (R-PA) and Dan Lipinski (D-IL), with 88 other co-sponsors, introduced the Protect Life Act (H.R. 358). Similar legislation was introduced in 2010. This bill will bring PPACA into line with policies on abortion and conscience rights that exist in other federal health programs.

The Protect Life Act is one of three new bills on important pro-life issues introduced in Congress on January 20. The other two bills concern abortion funding and conscience protection.
