The traditional solution for churches and oratories without communion rails

 

You can tear down all the altar rails, take out all the kneelers and further promote the Protestant rebellion all you like, but you cannot stop Tradition.

Here is pictured, complements of the ICKSP,  the traditional solution to administering communion without a permanently installed communion or sanctuary railing. The altar cloth is supported by two assisting servers providing a guard against profanation of the sacred Host if our Lord’s Body and Blood should happen to fall as the priest places His Eucharistic presence upon the tongue of the recipient.
